The Pioneer of Pipe
Maintenance

Pipe Freezing Systems is in northern Illinois. We service the entire US. Our team brings more than three decades of expertise to every job with a record of 100% quality and damage free work.

THE PENGUIN

Our legacy started with the penguin more than 30 years ago. It’s only appropriate to give a nod to the icon that’s been with us from the beginning. Why a penguin? Penguins are extraordinary. They move effortlessly through the water, and although they have wings, they aren’t made for flying, they’re for vigorous swimming.

In order to survive the unforgiving Antarctic environment, penguins huddle together to conserve warmth. They take turns moving to the group’s center and, after the penguin has become warm, it will move to the outer perimeter of the group, changing places with colder penguin.

This is the foundation of our company; strong, collaborative, and enduring. Always doing what is best for the client and supporting our team like family.

Long live the penguin!

SAVE TIME

Pipe Freezing is a simple, non-intrusive, cost saving method to perform pipe maintenance or line modification. The advantage is the work is performed without incurring the cost and down-time of a complete system drain down.

REDUCE YOUR COSTS

Pipe freezing is eco-friendly eliminating potential hazards caused by draining liquids and it shortens system downtime. With Pipe Freezing there’s no loss of expensive liquids. The process also reduces labor and material costs for repairs and alterations.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE SAVINGS

Pipe Freezing Systems uses liquid nitrogen and can freeze from 3/8″ to 48″ pipes. Qualified and trained PFS technicians come to your site to perform the pipe freezing process. During the pipe freezing process a jacket is fitted around the pipe and liquid nitrogen is introduced into the jacket to freeze the contents of the pipe. Liquid nitrogen has a temperature of -320 degrees and continuous evaporation, which takes place within the jacket. The frozen plug remains while replacement, maintenance or repair work takes place. Once the work is completed the system is pressure tested to the ice plug.
